Latest developments in epidemic control on April 22

BEIJING — Here are the latest developments on the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in China:
— Chinese health authority said April 21 that it received reports of
11 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on the mainland on April 20, of which
four were imported.
The other seven new cases were domestically transmitted, including
six in
Heilongjiang province and one in
Guangdong province.
No death was reported on April 20 on the mainland.
As of April 20, the mainland had reported a total of
1,587 imported cases. Of the cases,
776 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery, and
811 were being treated with
44 in severe conditions.
— The overall confirmed cases on the mainland had reached
82,758 by April 20, including
1,003 patients who were still being treated and
77,123 people who had been discharged after recovery. Altogether
4,632 people had died of the disease.
— Also on April 20,
37 new asymptomatic cases, including
two from abroad, were reported on the mainland.
Three asymptomatic case, all domestic ones, were re-categorized as confirmed
ones, and
32 people,
six of whom were from abroad, were discharged from medical observation.
A total of
992 asymptomatic cases, including
180 from abroad, were still under medical observation.

Heilongjiang province on April 20 reported
six new locally-transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases and
two new imported confirmed cases. All the new imported cases were Chinese nationals returning from
Russia.
On April 20, Heilongjiang province reported
six new locally-transmitted asymptomatic cases and
two imported asymptomatic cases. The province had a total of
39 imported asymptomatic cases by April 20.
— No new confirmed cases or deaths were reported in Central China's
Hubei province on April 20. Hubei had
544 asymptomatic cases under medical observation on April 20, when
20 new cases were reported.
Hubei has so far reported
68,128 confirmed COVID-19 cases in total, including 50,333 in Wuhan.
— No new cases of COVID-19 were reported on April 20 in
Shanghai.
