We are looking for a Buying Engineer for our new Shanghai office.

Key Responsibilities: Sourcing of Suitable suppliers within China for steel, plastics parts and components.

Description of the tasks

- Build and administer Request For Quotation (RFQ)
- Conduct quality audits & make factory visits
- Analyse supplier responses to RFQs and help develop global negotiation strategies.
- Applicant should have thorough knowledge of production techniques and component and material costs as there will be a high degree of product development work required.
- Str0ng negotiation skills required for choosing suppliers. Benchmarking prices within the industry.
- Participate in recommendations about which supplier(s) to select.
- Conduct Quality Control at supplier factory.
- Liaise with logistics partners.


- Academic background: University degree, preferably in engineering and/or business administration or other relevant discipline
- A recognized qualification in procurement would be considered an asset
- Experience: Some professional experience (1-2 years) in procurement or other related supply chain positions, preferably working for a western industrial organization
- Language skills: Chinese & English (must be fluent). Working proficiency in French is an asset
- PC skills: Excel, Powerpoint, Word

Graduated in International Business specialising in purchasing in Clermont Ferrand in France, I have 18 months work experience mainly in logistics and purchasing. I have indeed worked as intern at a BASF subsidiary in Germany in the purchasing department, and at Bosch Automotive Products Co Ltd in China at the supply chain. These two experiences in industrial purchasing proved to be successfull and fitting my profile.

I speak fluent English and German, and also have a fair command of everyday spoken chinese language and a basic knowledge of written chinese. I am in China for almost two years now. Through this stay in China, I am adapted to the Chinese way of life and also to working in a mulicultural team. I presently work as product manager for outdoor in a French buying office in Guangzhou. I am in charge of sourcing, supplier evaluation, orders follow up and quality inspection.
