“La Maîson” ’s – Saint Gobain Distribution China Internship:
Position: Installation Auditor Assistant.
The company:
“La Maîson” is Saint-Gobain distribution in China. The industry is interior decoration. We provide design, materials, and we realize the Installation.
La Maîson first store opened in 2004, there is now 3 stores in Shanghai. Thus there is still work on the organization and process.
The intern will be based in one store and report to me in the Head office.
Main Goal:
The main goal is to improve the installation quality and appearance in La Maîson building site. So, you need to work on everything that has an influence on the installation (people, process)
In the store (Relationship & Analyze):
The intern needs to have many contacts with most of the people working in the store. The goal is to be accepted by the team, and be able to understand how the things work and how it can be improved. When you find a problem (delivery, complains, unfair selections…) a solution must be proposed.
You need also to find the best practice which will be implemented in the other stores.
Sites Visits (Control & understanding):
The goal is to check the current quality of the project, check if the new processes and requirements are applied and the reason if they are not applied.
It enables us to find who are the good employees and the bad (QC, Team Leader, Managers)
Language issue:
Most of the people in the store and in the building site do not speak English, but in each store there is someone who can spend time with you to translate when you have questions. Speaking Chinese is a good plus
