Le tram fait son retour a Shanghai après quelques 40 ans d absences...
    ...
"According to a long-term urban plan by the commission, the city will have around 800 kilometers of tram tracks in the future — equal in length to the 2020 target for the Metro network."
    ...
"A standard tram usually has capacité for around 350 passengers and travels at between 25 to 30 kilometers per hour. “A tram’s capacity is ideally suited to suburban residential areas with populations of between 500,000 and 1 million,” Shen said.
Shen said most of the Shanghai trams will use overhead electric network power supply.
Currently, Shanghai has one tram route in service in Pudong’s Zhangjiang High Tech Park.
The 9.8km route has 15 stops and a ticket price of 2 yuan (32 US cents)."

    Complement d'infos Songjiang:

"Shanghai will build 1,000 kilometers of light rails to improve urban traffic. Tram T1 and T2 will go under construction this month in Songjiang and serve as demos to supplément Metro and bus services.
Demand for public transport is rising in many new towns in the city's suburbs, such Songjiang University Town. A tram travels at a normal speed of 25 to 30 kilometers per hour, much faster than a bus and close to a subway train.
But a tram line costs less money and less time to build than a subway line. Officials said Pudong, Baoshan, Jiading, Qingpu and Fengxian districts have all made plans for tram lines."
