Our customer is a growing actor on the European furniture market. With a great success and growing market share, they need to reinforce their china office with Str0ng expertise.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
You will be reporting directly to the Selling & Sourcing Manager based in France and your responsibilities will include:

Management of the Team
- Work with management team to set up ambitious and realistic targets in terms of Quality, Merchandising & Product development to meet business plans
- Work closely with French Product team to understand direction and build Str0ng rapport with in the teams across categories

Management of Quality-China
- Manage, support and develop the Quality team, build a Str0ng, reliable and motivated team
- In charge of quality process and our quality standards to ensure all products we launch are safe and comply to required standards. Including a stronger sealing, start of production and in line production checking system as well as more robust pre-shipment inspection process.
- Identify where additional resource is required to implement processes effectively and manage the on the ground recruitment of suitable candidates accordingly

Management of Product development
You will be seeking and managing the development of ranges through the Product Development Design. This will involve collaborating and supporting the Selling & Sourcing Manager and designer in the development process from drawings to prototype and beyond.

You will have a good knowledge of furniture, you will have a passion for proposing, sourcing and developing new homewares categories.

Sourcing and Supplier Management
Your role will involve managing the research and audit of new suppliers in China and other Asian countries and will propose major, minor supply routes to optimize those routes for all categories the business chooses to trade in.

Travelling to visit new and existing suppliers will be a key part of the role and you will be expected to do this on a regular basis. You will ideal with wide range suppliers, our in-house teams and manufactures to develop one of the best homewares ranges on the market.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- You are a quality Manager with at least 5 years’ experience in the Furniture/Homewares business, preferably based in Asia
- You are a very capable manager with Str0ng people skills and you lead from the front by example, you have an aptitude for collaboration and building effective teams
- You have Str0ng integrity, a balanced and measured approach but have the pace to be able to work effectively under pressure
- You are familiar with China and are comfortable working from our Dongguan office and are happy to travel throughout China to meet with our supply base
- You are hardworking, known for exceptional organizational and planning skills, and able to lead and manage team members and business partners
- You have proven experience of quality management and know the market regulations, you have worked in quality and/or product development in the furniture/homewares sector, and are willing to learn quickly and take over growing responsibilities in very fast growing environment.
- You are familiar with the production processes for furniture, understand the quality and cost breakdowns in the manufacturing of Furniture categories
- You are not afraid of new challenges but love them, you are proactive and always keen on identifying any issues and proposing potential solutions
- French nationality required, fluent in English and basic Chinese to be able to communicate with local suppliers
- Salary negotiable according to profile
