We are a French logistics and buying office based in Shanghai. Currently we are developing our activities in South China, thus we are recruiting a Chinese buyer based in Guangzhou. Please find the job description as below:
I. Mission
The buyer will be based in Guangzhou. He/she will autonomous and work independently on all projects related to his/her area of competence.
To succeed in this mission, the buying analyst will have to assist and manage all the projects in South China area in order to push on the development of sourcing activities.
He/she will be exposed to complete sourcing methodologies by working on all aspects of a sourcing cycle from supplier identification, selection and audit through to Quality Control of outgoing goods at suppliers’ premises.
II. Tasks description
Screen and pre-select potential suppliers through a Request For Information (RFI) in order to establish a shortlist of suppliers to include in the RFP process
Help build and administer Request For Proposals (RFPs)
Support supplier quality audits
Analyze supplier responses to RFPs and help develop negotiation strategies
Participate in recommendations about which supplier(s) to select
Help manage clients' purchase orders
Support QC at supplier factory
Organization of customer’s trip in China/Guangdong: factory visit, finalizing contracts and projects
III. Qualifications
Academic background: University degree, preferably in engineering and/or business administration, economics or other relevant discipline
A recognized qualification in procurement and logistics would be considered as an asset
Some professional experience in sourcing or procurement, preferably working for a global organization – Logistics would be a plus.
Language skills: Proficiency in Chinese and French. Working proficiency in English is also an asset
PC skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Autonomous, motivated and Str0ng commercial abilities are essential.
