France, and specifically Paris, is one of the most popular destinations for Chinese tourists abroad, but French authorities are still in the process of figuring out what the hell to do with them. Last year a Parisian tourism group released guidelines for dealing with Chinese vacationers, and this year they're calling in the big guns. French Minister of the Interior Bernard Cazeneuve has invited a team of Chinese police to come to Paris for the summer to deal with the raving hordes of tourists from their country.
More than 1 million Chinese tourists flooded into France during last year's tourist season, and the number is estimated to leap by 40% this year, after France eased its visa application process. China.Org reports that the French police need all the help they can get:
The French police will strengthen its patrols in tourist spots and public transportation hubs, and will invite more than 10 Chinese police officers to patrol with them, according to Cazeneuve.
In addition to patrolling major tourist spots, the Chinese police officers will serve as interpreters when the Chinese tourists need to communicate with the French police, Cazeneuve said.
Hopefully Chinese tourists are able to hold in their pee while walking down those lovely Parisian streets, or we might be in for an international incident.
