Hello everyone,
This upcoming Tuesday, July 8th we will be having a relaxing evening at the Laris Vault Bar. As always this is an evening with the entrepreneur in mind. The lazy days of summer are a perfect opportunity to take some extra time to build a larger professional network in Shanghai. As always there is no entry fee or membership required for entrance.

On another note the Green Business Forum is just around the corner. There are only nine days left until the Green Business Forum; it is an event you do not want to miss. Note that the Green Business Forum will be featured in the July 3rd issue of CityWeekend Magazine with an interview of Peggy Liu of JUCCCE.Nine panelists, the award winning documentary, The 11th Hour, and an in-depth Q&A session will shed some light on the current state of the environment. Equally as important the forum is a call to action that will provide everyone with a simple and manageable way to get active, to enact change, and to have an individual impact on the environment around you.

Experts, from JUCCCE, Roots & Shoots, Greennovate, EmissionsZero, and other industry leaders, will set the facts straight on the mounting environmental strains now placed on Planet Earth and teach us how we as individuals can make an immediate impact by making simple changes to our business practices.

****************250RMB Entry Fee*****************
**RSVP by email: rsvp@nextstepshanghai.com**

We will learn about JUCCCE’s Light Bulb Project and how EmissionsZero’s carbon trading policies can effect change at the micro level and influence macro level policies—see how you can get active with both organizations. Find out how the Roots & Shoots Eco-Office Program can save your office money and resources, and more importantly make your business environmentally friendly. It is the goal of the Green Business Forum to double the total number of companies participating in the Roots & Shoots Eco-Office program. Discover how architecture and design companies like Arc8X and A00 can greatly improve the environment within which you work by implementing green policies, and learn why all companies big and small like urbn Hotel should be doing this. And of course find out how manufacturing and supply chain management play a pivotal role in our move towards eco-friendly business practices.

The forum will include panels covering two major topics. The first panel will focus on the Carbon Credit Markets, discussing the coming energy crisis in China and shedding light on the complex Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the Kyoto Protocol and how it will effect industrial development, as well as its potential to spurn the growth of Carbon Emission Reduction credit focused businesses in China.

The second panel is concerned with How to Make Your Business Green, and will discuss the environmental consequences of business practice, offering ideas on how companies can effect change with a few simple alterations to everyday business routines. This will also include office and building design, manufacturer waste audits, supply chain management guidance, and more.

The afternoon will also see excerpts from environmental documentary The 11th Hour. In this film we will hear from over fifty of the world’s leading scientists, and other professionals now focused on the environment. The documentary will surely expose most of us to facts, figures, ideas and solutions that we never thought possible.

Tickets are 250 RMB* including buffet and drinks. *25% of all ticket proceeds and 50% of cash sponsorships will be donated to Roots & Shoots Shanghai and Greennovate.
